Mattress Protection
There are 3 reasons why mattress protection is a neccesity.
1. Hygiene & Cleanliness
Without protection your mattress will very quickly become marked and stained. We can't help it but the human body leaks throughout the night. We all do it, its nothing to be embarrased about but it happens. There is not one of us that does not leave some or all of the following in our beds; perspiration, urine, semen, menstrual fluid, mucus etc.
Without a mattress protector these secretions soak through to the mattress and over a relatively short period of time you will start to see a growing brownish tide mark and not surprisingly it will soon start to smell slightly unpleasant. Once it has reached this stage it is impossible to reverse. You cannot wash your mattress, you could call in a specialist cleaner but even they cannot remove all the marks and once they have finished you will be starting the process all over again. Additionally, do you really want to invite a stranger in to your house to clean your dirty mattress? Then talking about guests, what happens when friends or family want to stay over, do you want them to sleep on a stained mattress? All this can be avoided by using mattress protection from Snugnights.
2. Dust Mites
There are literally millions of dust mites in all of our homes, it's nothing to do with how well you do your housekeeping, there favourite place is inside your mattress. Here they can quite happily feed on the tiny flakes of your skin that work there way down in to the mattress. They have a plentiful supply of moisture (from you), this moisture helps bacteria to breed which in turn help to break down the skin particles in to food for the mites. Manyof us are allergic to the dust mite and its waste matter. This allergy can appear as a sore throat, runny nose, red watery eyes or just a cough. For those worst affected it can bring on asthma and eczema particularly in children. Using a dust mite proof mattress protector stops moisture and skin particles from entering the mattress, thus depriving the mites of their food source. Additionally the dust mites and their waste products cannot pass through the protector to reach the person in the bed.
3. Continence issues
Most of us are fortunate enough not to suffer from incontinence, but as we know children can wet the bed, and not just their own (most kids love to jump in to bed with mum and dad). It is a less known fact that many people suffer from night time incontinence (9% of all adult males in the UK). This can happen at any age and in otherwise completely healthy individuals. Mattress protection means safe rather than sorry.
